Had a conversation the other day with a rap enthusiast about just music in general
It's always enlightening to hear other people's perspectives on music
the main question i wanted to know was what makes music good?
Why do people enjoy certain songs?
The lyrics i understand, but the song itself
How is a song catchy?
at the same time, isn't that why music is so great?
it brings about so many different emotions and it's not cut and dry, there are different genres and all that other stuff
it's awesome
Rap is rap
i'm not sure what it was like in the days of run-dmc or public enemy or those "old-school" rappers
but i do know that those guys laid the foundation for the greatest rappers of all time
it's just like the NBA
the old school ballers like dr. j, jerry west, wilt, they laid the foundation for the greatest players of all time: jordan, magic, duncan, bird, shaq
crazy
our generation experienced probably the greatest era of rap and basketball
coincidence?
iono
with that i also know that we are in a generation where rap and basketball have evolved into style over substance
in a generation where someone like soulja boy and antoine walker are allowed to be in their respective occupations
i'm sad
rap needs Biggie back
2pac.. eh... overrated
speaking of overrated
saw 10000 BC
HA.. what a joke of a movie
those fake blue eyes were the only things that made it interesting
there were moments when the graphics were crazy
there were other times when it felt like i was watching a movie from the 90s
i mean c'mon
almost done with school
i'm gonna be an alumni
probably for the last time
who knows?
